Based in the Wilson Center's Program on America and the Global Economy (PAGE), a program that explores paths for long-term growth in the United States and around the world, the Wilson Center on the Hill targets areas such as international trade and security, sustainable development, and globalization. Wilson Center on the Hill draws on the expertise of twenty-two other programs at the Wilson Center which are involved in their regional and topical areas on a day-to-day basis.

The Wilson Center on the Hill program is comprised of two major components:

• A series of regular programs in the U.S. Capitol complex that provides the Members and staff of the U.S. Congress with opportunities to hear and discuss issues in international trade and security, globalization, and sustainable development with leading experts, U.S. and foreign government officials, representatives of civil society, and academics.
   
• Structured study trips for Members of Congress and senior staff that focus on key issues related to international trade and global development. The study trip provides participants with the opportunity to increase their appreciation for the challenges faced by the developing world and to broaden their understanding of how U.S. policies can play a meaningful role in addressing these problems.

Wilson Center on the Hill is funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. The Hewlett Foundation has been working since 1966 to solve social and environmental problems in the U.S. and around the world.
