CEHP Research Brief Cited in World Politics Review
Graham Lees' World Politics Review article, published on August 15 and entitled "Beijing Car Ban Experiment Highlights China's Environmental Woes," discusses some of China's glaring pollution problems, particularly regarding air pollution emissions. Lees cites CEF's "Transboundary Air Pollution" China Environmental Health Project research brief, written by Juli Kim.
This car ban is part of the preparation for the 2008 green Olympics in Beijing and comes just a week after the one year count down to the games began. Despite significant improvements to the environment around Beijing, concerns that the games may be delayed or that participants health may be at risk are rampant.
