Former Fellow Receives Pulitzer

Kai Bird, a former Wilson Center fellow, wins 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Biography for a volume he co-wrote while at the Center in 2001-2002.

The Wilson Center congratulates former fellow Kai Bird who received the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Biography for American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer [Knopf, 2005], which he co-authored with Martin J. Sherwin. Bird, a Cold War historian and independent scholar, wrote the book, in part, while a fellow at the Wilson Center from 2001-2002.

American Prometheus was also awarded the Choice Award for Outstanding Academic Titles this year.
