India and the Cold War, 1947-1991: Archival Perspectives and Historical Revisions

CWIHP is pleased to announce the international conference India and the Cold War 1947-1991: Archival Perspectives and Historical Revisions held on 18-19 May 2009 at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.

The conference, co-organized by CWIHP, the Wilson Center's Asia Program, the University of Pennsylvania's Center for the Advanced Study of India, and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies South Asia Studies Program, explored India's role in the Cold War. The relatively small number of primary documents available from Indian sources were augmented by new releases from Chinese, Russian, East European, and Western archives.

Papers prepared for the conference will be assembled in a future CWIHP publication.
