Journal War in History Reviews CWIHP Book Local Consequences of the Global Cold War, Edited by Jeffrey A. Engel

Writing in the journal War in History, Maud Bracke of the University of Glasgow reviewed Local Consequences of the Global Cold War, edited by Jeffrey A. Engel and published as part of the Cold War International History Project Book Series.

Bracke describes the book, a collection of papers given at a Yale conference in 2003, as an important contribution in the under-studied research area of social Cold War studies. Bracke goes on to say that "the brief discussion in the introduction by Engel and Engel of some of the major schools in European and North American diplomatic relations history convincingly argues the case for a Cartesian shift towards a focus on the impacts of international relations on ordinary people."
