New Books from former CWIHP Fellow Wanda Jarzabek

CWIHP is pleased to announce the publication of two new books by former CWIHP Fellow Wanda Jarzabek.

PRL w politycznych strukturach Ukladu Warszawskiego w latach 1955 – 1980 (ISP PAN 2008) (The Polish People's Republic in the political structures of the Warsaw Pact, 1955 - 1980) explores Poland's participation in the Warsaw Pact and outlines how Poland used the Pact to pursue its own national interests.

In addition to scholarly analysis, the book also includes 47 documents culled from Polish archives, including reports and minutes of conversations between Polish officials and their counterparts from other Warsaw Pact states.

Polska wobec Konferencji Bezpieczenstwa i Wspolpracy w Europie.
Plany i rzeczywistosc 1964 – 1975 (Poland and the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Plans and reality, 1964-1975) deals with Poland's attitude towards the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Drawing upon documents in Polish archives, this volume explores the changes in Poland's perceptions of CSCE from the time of its conception in the sixties through the signing of the Helsinki Final Act, and discusses the tension between Moscow's and Warsaw's goals for the Conference.
