[...] Después de nueve años de iniciadas las negociaciones, Chile ha llegado a un acuerdo con China para evitar la doble tributación. Es el primero que China firma con un país latinoamericano con el cual tiene un Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC), y no podría venir en un mejor momento. Este tratado contribuirá a dar un salto cualitativo en la relación bilateral, pasando de una basada sobre todo en el comercio, a una con un fuerte componente de inversión. En 2014, Chile exportó US$ 18.800 milloness a China, su socio comercial # 1, y logró un superávit en el comercio bilateral de US$ 3.700l millones. En cambio, vendió apenas la mitad de esa cifra, US$ 9.200 millones, a Estados Unidos, su socio comercial # 2, y tuvo un déficit en el comercio bilateral de US$ 5.000 millones.
