Wilson Center now rated #5 U.S. Think Tank, Remains #10 Worldwide and top U.S. Think Tank to Watch

The Wilson Center now ranks #5 in the United States, according to the highly regarded University of Pennsylvania survey released today.

WASHINGTON – The Wilson Center now ranks #5 in the United States, according to the highly regarded University of Pennsylvania survey released today.

“This is an affirmation of the excellence which runs deep and wide across the Center, and recognition from our peers about the difference we make,” said Jane Harman, President, CEO and Director of the Center. "This is a reflection of the impact our scholarship has on public policy and the dedication of our staff. I am proud to head such a special organization."

For the first time the Wilson Center is in the top five think tanks in the United States by a vote of its peers. For the second year in a row it is ranked in the top ten think tanks worldwide, and named the number one U.S. think tank to watch. It has risen steadily in the worldwide rankings over the last five years: 17th in 2010, 15th in 2011, 11th in 2012 and 10th in 2013 and 2014.

The Center’s success also included top rankings for program content and transdisciplinary research. "We at the Wilson Center are pleased to be recognized for excellence in multiple categories this year, including for the quality of our research; the impact of our programming; our engagement with the public; and our internal management," said Andrew Selee, the Wilson Center’s Executive Vice President.

The Global Go To Think Tank Index is produced annually by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the International Relations Program, University of Pennsylvania.
