Wilson Center's <i>dialogue</i> Program Partners with Close Up to Air on C-SPAN

WASHINGTON – dialogue is pleased to announce a new broadcast production in partnership with the "Close Up on C-SPAN" television series. On Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m., Close Up will premiere the first of a new series of segments produced by dialogue at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The segment, hosted by George Liston Seay, will feature a short interview with renowned primatologist Jane Goodall discussing her work in environmental conservation, sustainable development and education. It will serve as a focus for discussion among the high school audience present and in classrooms throughout the country. The new modular series will be multi-part and feature Wilson experts on a wide spectrum of topics. The series is broadcast nationally to the estimated 34.5 million people who regularly watch C-SPAN television.

For 25 years, "Close Up on C-SPAN" has conducted a highly esteemed public affairs television series that presents informed discussion of world and national affairs to America's high school youth and a general audience of C-SPAN viewers. For eight of those years the Close Up Foundation and the Wilson Center successfully collaborated in producing Close Up at the Wilson Center, a three-part television series on public policy with a panel of experts discussing important and timely international issues. Both organizations share a commitment to education and to providing opportunities for thoughtful multi-partisan discussions of issues.

This new modular format will be broadcast as a part of the weekly "Close Up on C-SPAN" series and will present an array of Wilson Center experts to the American public. It will also provide a link back to the Center's new online media portal "Wilson on Demand."
