The next President of the United States is probably going to have one or more Supreme Court vacancies to fill during his term in office. Given the delicate liberal and conservative balance of the court the selection of new justices will have enormous significance. Another consideration is the very extensive range of cases that may be on the docket for this and future seasons. Supreme Court reporter Joan Biskupic explains what is at stake.
