What has France Done?

July 9, 2011

Patrick Chamorel, resident scholar at Standford University in Washington D.C.

France has elected a new President. In many important ways Nikolas Sarkozy represents a break from the past. He is a member of a new political generation, has a non-French heritage, and advocates closer ties with the United States. He also stands for an aggressive approach to overcoming French economic stagnation and building communal harmony. Patrick Chamorel explains his programs and his prospects.
