Energy Reform in Mexico: Implications for the United States

 The Mexican government has recently announced that it will present an Energy Reform initiative in August of 2013. The reform proposal is widely expected to include measures designed to radically alter the legal framework for oil production in Mexico, perhaps even including a change to the Mexican constitution.

On June 21st, three experts on Mexican energy issues will give their opinions about the upcoming reform, the need for change in Mexico and the potential legal, political and technical obstacles to be overcome.
