Overview

This event has been postponed due to the impending bad weather.

America’s ability to exert influence in the traditional spheres of foreign policy and security may sometimes be questioned but no one can doubt the continuing influence of American culture, and in particular film. American movies shape the world - the way the world sees America and itself. With greater trade and globalization, the trend lines are changing with film industries from different countries working together to produce films like IRON MAN 3 or THE MONUMENTS MEN. And, smaller films from emerging markets are also being introduced to American audiences through an ever growing network of specialty theaters, Video-on-Demand and streaming online. Four experts with differing backgrounds talk about how movies shape cultures, and culture shapes movies.
