Overview

The Obama Administration has just issued the first annual installment of its interagency Quadrennial Energy Review (QER). At this Wilson Center Special Event, QER lead framer and coordinator Melanie Kenderdine, Counselor to the US Secretary of Energy and Director, Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis at DOE, will discuss the main findings and recommendations of the first annual QER installment.

The QER is designed to help ensure, in a dramatically changing energy landscape, that Federal energy policy is matched to the nation’s economic, security and climate goals. In annual installments, the QER will focus on different components of the US energy system – resource extraction and processing, energy transport and storage infrastructure, electricity generation and end-use. In its first annual installment, the QER addresses infrastructures for energy transmission, storage and distribution (TS&D).
