Support the Center
The Woodrow Wilson Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, relies on the support of people like you to unite scholarship and dialogue with policy, and to serve the public as the nation's living memorial to President Wilson. Giving to the Wilson Center helps meet the 70 percent of its annual operating budget that must be raised through gifts, grants, and endowment income. Donations may be unrestricted or designated for a particular purpose, and they may range from cash gifts and pledges to appreciated stock and planned gifts.

Make a secure donation online. If you would like to direct your donation to a specific program, indicate that in the textbox that says "Designation."
Call the Development Office at 202-691-4172.
Complete the donation form. and fax it to 202-691-4173.
Complete the donation form and mail it to:
Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars

If you have any questions, please contact the Development Office at 202-691-4172 or at development@wilsoncenter.org.

Gifts that are not designated for a particular program or activity provide the funds to test new ideas for areas of research and study, as well as helping cover the Center's basic operating costs.
Gifts may be directed to a specific program, activity, or Center-identified need, of interest to the donor. For additional information on funding needs, please contact development@wilsoncenter.org
Many companies will match an employee's gift up to a certain point and sometimes more than dollar-for-dollar, thereby increasing the impact of your gift. To find out if your employer has a matching gift program, please click on this link and enter your employer’s name in the window, then hit “submit.” Or, check with your employer to see if such a program is available and for any restrictions that might apply.
Gifts in Kind are another way of making a contribution to the Wilson Center. These may provide needed materials and products for the Center's operations, such as a piece of art, audio-visual and computer equipment, and rare books. If you are considering making a gift in kind, please contact the Development Office to determine the Center's interest in a particular gift.
The IRS provides generous incentives for charitable gifts in many forms. Donating long-term appreciated assets allows the donor to avoid capital gains taxes and to claim a charitable income tax deduction based on the full fair-market value of the gift. Gifts of real estate, stocks, bonds and certain other real property can provide valuable benefit to the Wilson Center. For additional information about this type of gift or to notify the Center of a transfer of property, please contact the Wilson Center's Development Office.
To make a gift of stock through a wire transfer, your broker may transfer the shares directly to the Wilson Center's account. Please contact development@wilsoncenter.org for wiring instructions.
Building the Wilson Center's endowment is critical to ensuring that the Center has a strong financial base from which to carry out its mission in the future. The Development Office would be happy to discuss giving to the endowment and possible naming opportunities.
