Japanese NGOs
Study Group on China's Environmental Problems
This is an informal group of Japanese scholars, policymakers, NGOs, private enterprises, citizens who are interested in China's environmental problems. The first meeting was held in Tokyo Keizai University on March 26, 2003. On December 16, 2005, the group held ist 10th meeting was held in the Japan Foundation's Global Partnership Office in Tokyo. In 2005, the group published "A Handbook of China's Environmental Problems 2005-2006." The study group also runs an email listserv for information exchange among members. About 90 persons are on this list. The main organizers of this study group include Jusen Asuka (Tohoku University), Naoki Kataoka (Tokyo Keizai University), Kenji Otsuka(IDE-JETRO) and Yasushi Aikawa (Tottori Environmental University).
