On January 16th, the Wilson Center's Global Women's Leadership Initiative (GWLI) presented the prestigious 2012 Ion Ratiu Democracy Award to Aung San Suu Kyi at her private residence in Nay Pyi Daw, Burma.
The first AUW Women in Public Service Summer Institute led by Dr. Rangita de Silva de Alwis, Director of the Global Women's Leadersip Initiative is currently underway at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh, running from August 1 – August 15, 2012.
The Asian Rural Women's Coalition nominated Sumaira Ishfaq, a delegate at the Women in Public Service (WPSP) Summer Institute at Wellesley College, as one of 100 “Women of Courage.”
Rangita de Silva de Alwis, Director of the Global Women’s Leadership Initiative at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, was recently featured in an opinion column in USA Today written by Al Neuharth.
In collaboration with the U.S. State Department and the Seven Sisters women’s colleges, the Asian University for Women will host the Women in Public Service Summer Institute from August 1 to August 15, 2012.
The Global Women’s Leadership Initiative (GWLI) is proud to present the Report of the first Women in Public Service Project (WPSP) Institute held outside of the United States at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
