Connie Morella (D-MD), Wilson Center President Jane Harman, and Don Kettl, dean of the University of Maryland's School of Public Policy. Two University of Maryland students demonstrated the game and their results.

USAID’s Development Credit Authority utilizes risk-sharing tools to encourage private financial institutions to increase financing for creditworthy but underserved borrowers. Geovisualization of these loans will allow donors, host governments, and the public to see where USAID has helped enhance the capacity of the private sector to make loans to new businesses and could act as a gauge for trends or signal areas for synergy.

Nearly 100 Coloradoans convened on Capitol Hill in June for the three-day Colorado Capitol Conference with Senator Mark Udall. Participants ranged in age from college students to retirees, all coming to learn more about how policy is made in Washington. This June 6 session featured the Wilson Center’s Budget Hero game, which every participant had played in advance and arrived ready to discuss their results.

Over the past year Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team has worked on the ground in Haiti and Indonesia while responding to disasters remotely. These methodologies are complementary and can be utilized to have up to date basemap data both after a disaster and preparing in areas at risk of one.
