Joaquim Chissano, President of the Republic of Mozambique discussed the future of southern Africa, and how best to promote peace, stability and development in the region, placing special emphasis on the role that the Southern African Development Community (SADC) must play in acheiving these aims. He drew upon Mozambique's transformation to illustrate the possibility of regional reconstruction. more
