Project Summary

John Paul II’s Ostpolitik and its effect on Soviet foreign policy interaction of religion and politics in Eastern Europe the aims of the Vatican’s and the Kremlin’s foreign policy in Eastern Europe the broader international relationship existing between the Vatican and the Kremlin and how this relationship affects Eastern Europe the role which personalities play, especially that of John Paul II, in the Soviet-Papal relationship in Eastern Europe
