An in-depth analysis of recent Soviet newspapers, journals, and books bearing on the contraversy surrounding womens labor problems in the Soviet Union. Analysis and comparison of the reason women workers have become a policy issue, the political coalitions and lines of debate that have emerged in response to recognized problems, the scope of the conflict in the political arena, the political resources available to influence the outcome of laws and decisions, the actual policy changes at governmental, trade-union and industrial enterprise levels.
