Project Summary

nuclear proliferation; why, on the one hand, did Russia cancel the sale of cryogenic rockets to India in the face of international, names US, pressure, but on the other hand, cooperate with Iran in the nuclear arena despite similar objections? the study directs attention to domestic factors that facilitate and inhibit a state’s attempts to induce cooperation using issue-linkages and inducements. From a policy perspective, the study sheds light on the challenge that the USA faces in attempting to gain the support of Russia in nonproliferation efforts.
