Asks what will replace Leninist political culture, demonstrating the extent of change and the ailments of transformation that have spurred the rise of illiberal political movements. Locates strong anchors in conservative, nationalist and even extremist values over a period of change, uncertainty and axiety. Examines the collective psychology in Russia, Ukraine and Romania.
