Project Summary

How does ethnic identity become part of a movement? How does ethnic identity survive and how does it become part of collective memory, historicity and everyday life? the persistence of ethnic movements is linked to their political discourse, which frames the formation and articulation of ethnic identity; examination of the Azerbaijani experience and the development of movements leading to the formulation and articulation of Azerbaijani ethnic identity in the period from 1820 to the present
