Soo Hong Kim, honorary DBA, is the Director of the Institute for Korean Peninsula Project Development (IKPPD) and Chair-Professor of Kyungnam University. He is also the CEO of Incheon Bridge Company. During the past 12 years, as board member of AMEC Finance Asia (AMEC being the largest engineering company in the UK) and CEO of AMEC Korea, he planned the construction and operation of Incheon Bridge (21.34km, the longest and largest PPP engineering works in Korea) and financed the said project by introducing to Korea for the first time a non-recourse PPP project financing of one billion USD. The Incheon Bridge, together with Incheon International Airport, is a representative project of Korea’s free economic zone policy.

He is the first in Korea to receive such international awards as Euromoney's "The Best Project Finance Deal of the Year Award in Asia Pacific Transport Infrastructure" in 2006, ENR (Engineering News-Record)'s "Top 25 Newsmakers of 2007,” and 2011 OCEA award of merit by ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). In Korea he has received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, the highest award in this area, and has received Commendation for Excellence by Rt. Hon. Lord Mandelson in 2009 for contributing to the Korea-United Kingdom cooperation and Citation from the Korea-UK Parliamentarians’ Friendship Association in 2005.

As businessman, he is active in contributing to society, having been an advisor to the Korean President’s Special Envoy for Energy, a former board member of the Incheon Football Association, current board member of the Incheon Scholarship Committee and current board member of Novic Pacem Foundation. He has studied for three years at University of California, Riverside and received an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Kyungnam University.
