Todd Eisenstadt is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Government at American University. Research for his newest book led Eisenstadt to believe that “ethnicity” may have less impact than usually assumed on whether people view themselves and their relations with the government principally through a “Western” statist-individualist lens or through a “traditional” communitarian lens. Eisenstadt has authored and/or edited four other books and several journals articles. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego.
