Kennan Institute Director Blair Ruble was awarded the Public Scholar in the Humanities Award by the Humanities Council of Washington, D.C. for his book Washington's U Street: A Biography.

Kennan Institute Director Blair Ruble was awarded the Public Scholar in the Humanities Award by the Humanities Council of Washington, D.C. for his book Washington's U Street: A Biography. Dr. Ruble spoke at a panel with fellow honorees, including the local proprietors of Ben's Chili Bowl, Lee's Flower and Card Shop, and Sorg Architects.
