Mayor Ahn Sang-Soo to Speak at Wilson Center Director's Forum

The Wilson Center will host Mayor Ahn Sang-Soo of Incheon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea on February 4. This event is open to the public.

The Wilson Center invites you to a Director's Forum with Mayor Ahn Sang-Soo, who will discuss Incheon Metropolitan City's unique urban development vision.

Mayor Ahn Sang-Soo of Incheon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea, took office in 2002 after several years in the corporate sector. He used his private sector experience to improve city efficiency, build ties with North Korea, and turn Incheon into a cutting-edge international city.

Mayor Ahn is committed to further development for both Incheon and Korea, and has worked toward the vision of creating a ‘Compact Smart City.' This vision would transform Incheon into a self-sufficient, technologically advanced, eco-friendly city that could serve as a model for the rest of the world.

In September 2009, Mayor Ahn received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service at a ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
