Newly released NKIDP documents were analyzed in a Yonhap News Agency article on North Korea's attempt to co-host the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The documents, records of conversations between International Secretary of the Korean Worker's Party, Hwang Jangyeop and Soviet Poliburo member, Aleksandr Yakovlev detail North Korea's attempts to secure Soviet support for co-hosting the 1988 Olympics.
