The Kennan Institute Announces This Year's Robert H. Baraz Memorial Intern

The 2010-11 program year marks the twentieth year of the Kennan Institute's Robert H. Baraz Memorial Research Internship Program. This program was established in 1991 in honor of the late Robert H. Baraz, longtime Director of the Office of Research and Analysis for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research of the U.S. Department of State. Each year, the Kennan Institute recognizes the Research Assistant who has provided the most outstanding level of service for the year.

The Kennan Institute has selected Peter Piatetsky as the 2010-2011 Robert H. Baraz Memorial Research Intern. Mr. Piatetsky is a graduate of Boston University and a Master's candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park. While at the Kennan Institute, Mr. Piatetsky served as Research Assistant to two scholars: Fulbright-Kennan Research Scholar Evgeniy Sobolev ("American Foreign Policy in the Persian Gulf") and Fulbright-Kennan Research Scholar Oleg Karmadonov ("Social Contract and Social Corruption: The Specifics of a ‘New Social Partnership' in Today's Russia and the United States").
