What to Expect from the Washington Summit: A Conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg


WASHINGTON — On June 17, 2024, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will host North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for an event titled, "What to Expect from the Washington Summit: A Conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg." The event will be streamed live and provide a unique opportunity to gain insights into the future of the 32-member Alliance as it prepares for the NATO Summit in July.  

“With new members and more countries boosting their defense budgets, the NATO Alliance is stronger and more important than ever,” said Wilson Center President and CEO Ambassador Mark A. Green. “This conversation with the Secretary General represents a great opportunity to learn more about how the Alliance is rising to meet the challenge of safeguarding freedom in Europe and the West.” 

Secretary General Stoltenberg’s address at the Wilson Center will outline the Alliance's goals and priorities, address challenges ahead and the importance of Alliance unity as NATO commemorates its 75th anniversary. The event will take place from 11am to 12pm.
