Radu Ioanid is Associate Director of International Programs at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

The Romanian Holocaust was particularly brutal in its local persecution of Jews and gypsies. Mihail Sebastian was a Jewish intellectual whose journal described the darkening atmosphere. Radu Ioanid comments on Sebastian's journal and his own book on the Romanian Holocaust.
