Overview

Mexico’s National Autonomous University is one of the largest and most prestigious public universities in the Americas.  Dr. José Narro Robles was elected the 23rd rector of the university in 2007.  He has an illustrious scholarly career, and is the former Dean of the UNAM’s Medical School.  Dr. Narro Robles earned a B.A. in medicine from the UNAM and a postgraduate degree in Community Medicine from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

The Mexico Institute seeks to improve understanding, communication, and cooperation between Mexico and the United States by promoting original research, encouraging public discussion, and proposing policy options for enhancing the bilateral relationship. A binational Advisory Board, chaired by Luis Téllez and Earl Anthony Wayne, oversees the work of the Mexico Institute.   Read more
