The maker community is a grassroot movement centered around empowering individuals to collaboratively design and build products, typically using some sort of digital fabrication spaces and tools. Critical making is a subdiscipline of the maker movement that uses material production—making things—as part of an explicit practice of concept elaboration (and critique) within the social study of technology.
