Full Biography
Career diplomat in the Chilean foreign service. He has served in Chilean embassies and missions in Morocco, Greece, Belgium (EU), Austria and South Africa. He has been Alternate Permanent Representative of Chile to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization and the United Nations Office in Vienna. He was also Ambassador of Chile to South Africa from 2017 to 2021, concurrent in Angola, Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia.
In Antarctic affairs, he has been Head of the Division of Antarctic Affairs between 2013 and 2017, and again as of September 2021. In this capacity, he has been the representative of Chile to the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meetings (ATCM) between these same years and to the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) in 2006-2007, 2013-2016 and 2021.
