Full Biography
Anne Bergenfelt is a former Danish Diplomat with more than 25 years high level institutional and political experience in 5 different cabinets in the European Commission.
After having joined the Danish Foreign Service at the Danish Permanent Representation to the EU as a Transport Counsellor, she started in 1996 at the European Commission by joining as a member the Cabinet of Transport Commissioner, Rt. Hon Neil Kinnock. In 1999, she joined the Cabinet of Environment Commissioner Margot Wallstrom. As Member of Ms. Wallstrom Cabinet, Ms. Bergenfelt and in 2004 she continued working in the Cabinet of Vice President Margot Wallstrom, Inter-institutional affairs and Communication, as Senior Advisor and later as deputy head of Cabinet.
In 2010, Anne Bergenfelt joined the Cabinet of Commissioner Connie Hedegaard, Climate action as Senior Advisor and later as deputy head of Cabinet. After 4 years in the Directorate General for Climate Action, where she headed the European Climate Diplomacy, she joined as Senior Advisor in 2019, the cabinet of the High Representative and Vice President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
Anne Bergenfelt has undergraduate studies from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada and a Law Degree from the University of Copenhagen as well as Graduate Studies in Political Science at Georgetown University, Washington DC.
