Full Biography
Jacqueline Grebmeier is a Professor at the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science in Solomons, Maryland USA. As a biological oceanographer her research is focused on Arctic ecosystem dynamics, benthic predator-prey relationships, and carbon cycling in polar regions. She leads the Distributed Biological Observatory of time series stations to track status and change in marine ecosystems in the Pacific Arctic that is expanding to a Pan-Arctic DBO network with international partners. She is the current Chair for the Pacific Arctic Group, past Vice-Chair for the International Arctic Science Committee, and is on the advisory boards for multiple international projects, including ArcticPASSION, Nansen Legacy, and BIOPOLE.
