Full Biography
Nicole Biebow leads the International Cooperation Unit at the Alfred-Wegener-Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Germany and is responsible for the international relations of the AWI. She maintains an extensive network of contacts in the European/International science and policy communities. Nicole the Coordinator of the EU project EU-PolarNet 2, having previously served as Executive Manager of EU-PolarNet 1. She is also the coordinator of the recently granted POLARIN (Polar Research Infrastructure Network) Horizon Europe project. In October 2021, she was elected as the chair of the European Polar Board (EPB) an independent organisation focused on major strategic priorities in the Arctic and Antarctic. Nicole received her PhD in Marine Geology at GEOMAR in Kiel.
