Full Biography
Tiina Kurvits is a Senior Specialist at GRID-Arendal, a non-profit environmental centre based in Norway and partner of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). With over 25 years of experience in environmental research, policy, and communications, she has collaborated on a broad range of issues with both government and non-government organizations in Canada and internationally. Since joining GRID-Arendal in 2002, Tiina has been involved in projects related to climate change, ecosystem management, food security, and biodiversity conservation. Recently, she was a lead author and member of the editorial team for the Nunataryuk Arctic Permafrost Atlas. Tiina is currently part of a team undertaking an assessment of proposed climate interventions for the Arctic, as well as a UNEP project evaluating the integrity of blue carbon markets.
