Paola Di Chiaro

    Full Biography

    Paola Di Chiaro is the Secretary for the Malvinas Islands, Antarctica, and South Atlantic. She is a political scientist and educator with an extensive career in public service. She graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and holds a diploma in International Relations from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso). She is a founding member of Argentina Global, a foundation that works towards the country's integration into the regional and global agenda through sustainable development. She is also the coordinator of the Diploma in National Security at the University of Belgrano (UB).

    From 1998 to 2001, she served as an advisor to the Foreign Relations and Worship Committee in the Argentine National Congress. The following year, she began working as a parliamentary liaison for the Undersecretariat of Institutional Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a position she held until 2003. From that year until 2009, she was an advisor to the Presidency of the National Defense Committee and the Foreign Relations and Worship Committee of the Senate. From 2010 to 2015, she held various positions in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires: advisor to the Director General of International Relations and Protocol; Director General of International Relations and Cooperation, and Chief of Staff of the Undersecretariat of International and Institutional Relations. At the same time, between 2015 and 2019, she served as Undersecretary of Global Affairs and later head of the National Security Strategy Unit, both positions within the Cabinet Office of the Presidency. From March to December 2019, she worked as Secretary of Strategy and Military Affairs in the Ministry of Defense.
