Canadian High Arctic Research Station
Project Description
The station will be a world-class, multidisciplinary facility that will anchor a year-round research presence in Canada’s Arctic to serve Canada and the world to advance Arctic science and technology issues. Scientists will undertake, support, and promote science and technology research focused on four priority areas: resource development; exercising sovereignty; environmental stewardship and climate change; and strong and healthy communities. EllisDon, in joint venture with NCC Dowland Construction Ltd., was awarded the contract to manage its construction. Construction began in 2017. Completed and opened in 2019.
