Co-Production and Oversight: Citizens and Their Police

This Working Paper is the product of a joint project on civic engagement and public security in Mexico coordinated by the Mexico Institute and the University of San Diego's Justice in Mexico Project. This analysis looks at two important roles that citizens can play to help respond to Mexico’s security challenges. The first is through the “co-production” of public security. The second role for citizens examined here is oversight of public officials and law enforcement agencies.
