Summit for Democracy

On March 29-30, 2023, President Biden co-hosted the second Summit for Democracy. Current Africa Program Director Oge Onubogu along with USAID's Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Africa and former Africa Program Director Monde Muyangwa attended the Summit in Lusaka, Zambia. The Summit convened thought-leaders and experts on the theme of "Free, Fair, and Transparent Elections as the Foundation for Democratic Governance."

 

The Africa Program works to address the most critical issues facing Africa and U.S.-Africa relations, build mutually beneficial U.S.-Africa relations, and enhance knowledge and understanding about Africa in the United States.
