Project Summary

the politics of social welfare reform from the spring of 1997 through the spring of 1999 in Russia How did the Russian government formulate its reform policies? How much progress has the federal government made in implementing these reforms? In the aftermath of the recent economic crisis, has the Primakov government continued these reforms, proposed alternatives, or simply neglected social policy, as did Russian governments before 1997?
