Explores the intellectual and political evolution of Soviet thinking on major foreign policy issues during the Gorbachev years, with special attention to the changing Soviet policies toward Eastern Europe and the USSR’s posture towards global issues, espeically the United Nations, international environmental policy and terrorism.
