This week on Dialogue at the Wilson Center we discuss the idea of “people to people” diplomacy, particularly about the variety achieved through international exchange programs.  Our guests are Mary Deane Connors, Director of the Office of Citizen Exchanges for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Cultural and Educational Affairs;  Dan Davidson, President of the American Councils for International Education, which conducts a number of exchange programs involving students, scholars, and professionals from around the world; Roza Vasileva, from St. Petersburg, Russia. She attended a U.S. high school in Minnesota in 2003 as a participant in the Future Leaders Exchange Program. Also, has President Obama’s recent speech on climate change put the issue back on the agenda in a meaningful way? We speak with Ruth Greenspan Bell, Public Policy Scholar with the Wilson Center’s Environmental Change and Security Program.
