On June 10, 2019, Dr. Monde Muyangwa, the Director of the Wilson Center’s Africa Program, presented at “Emerging Security Sector Leaders Seminar,” an annual seminar hosted by the Africa Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University. Dr. Muyangwa discussed the importance of strategic leadership for sustainable security in Africa and identified the core characteristics of strategic leadership. She also offered important insights on why leadership in governance is so important to African security.
