Fostering Innovation in the Americas

Fostering Innovation in the Americas

The Wilson Center's Latin American Program has launched several new research initiatives on innovation in the region, including an upcoming report on five Latin American ecosystems of digital innovation written by Diego Molano, former Colombian Minister of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

In partnership with the Vidanta Foundation, the Latin American Program launched a residential Fellowship on Fostering Innovation in the Americas, hosting CEO and Executive Editor of Latin Trade, Santiago Gutiérrez, for six months in 2017-2018. Dr. Gutiérrez, whose final report is forthcoming, produced numerous articles for Latin Trade during his period of residence. They are available below in English as well as Spanish.

On June 12, 2018, the Vidanta Foundation, Latin American Program, and World Bank hosted leading private and public sector leaders to explore the role of large Latin American companies in fostering innovation and improving productivity. Two business executives who participated in the conference, Claudio Muruzábal of SAP and Iván Chávez of Grupo Vidanta, agreed to an interview with Wilson Center NOW.
