It is with great sadness that the Kennan Institute marks the passing of former Kennan Institute director Abbott Gleason on 25 December 2015. He was 77 years of age.

It is with great sadness that the Kennan Institute marks the passing of former Kennan Institute director (1980-1982) Abbott Gleason on 25 December 2015. He was 77 years of age. 

Wilson Center Vice President for Programs and former Kennan Institute Director Blair Ruble said of his predecessor, “What Tom took from the civil rights movement is that politics is about morality and moral philosophy, not just about power.”
