In 2014, a study was conducted by Elena Azaola, a Mexican psychoanalyst and anthropologist, in four Mexican states (Hidalgo, Coahuila, Sinaloa, and Morelos) surveying 70% of their incarcerated youth charged with serious felonies. In this infographic, the Mexico Institute illustrates the statistics resulting from the study.
